Italian delicatessen products: fraud and counterfeiting
Counterfeiting in the food sector depresses the market and cheats consumers. It is therefore necessary to be on guard and act to defend the integrity of products that declare an origin.
From this point of view, Italy has an efficient control system. In fact, it is the only method able to protect public health and, at the same time, encourage market competition which protects the small scale manufacture of quality products, an element of agriculture’s versatility that also stimulates modern wine tourism.
